Whirlpool 4396701
Refrigerator Water Filter
The Whirlpool 4396701 refrigerator water filter is used for
refrigerator that has the
filter at the base, just behind the grill. This is
specifically for top freezers from Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid. The filter needs
to be replaced every 6 months or when you notice an odor in your water. To
replace the filter just turn the filter in your refrigerator ?of a turn and then
replace.
This water filter is certified by the NSF and reduces the chlorine taste and
other odors as well as reducing particulates, cysts, lead and mercury. All of
the contaminants that the water can remove are not necessarily found in water
but they may be present depending on your water source. The filter does not take
out the fluoride so your teeth will remain strong.
This filter was designed to replace older water filter models found in Whirlpool
and Kitchen Aid refrigerator models such as the Kitchen Aid 4396702 and a
variety of other whirlpool models including the 2301705, NL120V, WFLC200V,
WFL200 and L200 to name but a few.
This filter can remove up to 995 or lead found in water at a normal pH of around
7. It removes 93% of mercury, 95% of benzene, 99% of P-dichlorobenzene, 75% of
chlorine and 99% of class III particulate. The filter has been tested at water
PHS of above and below 7 as some water may be slightly more acidic or basic and
the filter needs to work properly at both water conditions.
There is a change filter light on your refrigerator that should notify you when
to replace the filter but you should get into the habit of replacing it every
six months. Whirlpool also produces some Kenmore refrigerators and this filter
may function in some Kenmore appliances. Be sure to check your models
specifications or go tot the Whirlpool websites.
