GE MSWF Smartwater Refrigerator Water Filter

The GE Smartwater MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter is placed in the inside of your

refrigerator above the top shelf in the back, upper, right hand corner. This water filter works in a twist installation so you can easily untwist the old filter, fill the new filter with water and twist in the new filter.

It takes all of one minute to change filters. If you change filters based on the status light then you will need to reset this every time you change the water filter. The directions for installation can be found with the water filter or with your refrigerator model.

It is recommended that you replace your water filter every 6 months or when the change filter light turns on. The life of each filter will depend on its use and the quality of your water. The GE Smartwater MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter meets and exceeds NSF/ANSI standards 42 and 53, which are set by NSF International. As with most water filters it does not remove fluoride. These standards refer to the elimination of chemicals and particles in the water.

The water filter has some performance guidelines you should stay within concerning pressure, temperature and flow rate. Please refer to the product as each filter has slightly different operating guidelines. Its filters out particles that are greater then 0.5 to 1 micron and can filter about 300 gallons pre 6 months. This filter will eliminate the up to 95% of the following chemicals, asbestos, atrazine, cysts, toxaphene, p-dichlorobenze, carbofuran, benzene, mercury, Lindane, Chlorine and Lead.
